Winnie the Pooh loves honey. Mr Blackwell loves honey. Any extension of the comparison would result in a brief but entertaining set of internet memes, followed by several terminations of employment.

But imagine Mr Blackwell's delight at discovering a family business producing the very highest quality Mānuka, Wildflower, Kāmahi, Native and Clover honey, straight from the land, in South Wairarapa!

Kāmahi honey is from a tree growing in most native forests around New Zealand. Also known as Weinmannia racemosa, the Kāmahi grows as an evergreen shrub up to 25m in height. From a beekeeping perspective, it flowers at the same time as the Mānuka bush, but is much easier to 'work' by the bees, so they tend to go crazy over it. The Kāmahi tends to grow at the front of the bushline, so the bees still gather the sweet pastures, the strong Mānuka and then the buttery Kāmahi honey.

It's been described as a caramel butterscotch flavour and is very quickly becoming Greytown Honey's most popular honey. It's a great all rounder, proven by its success in the Outstanding Food Producer Awards and as a finalist in the NZ Food Awards in 2018.

Kāmahi Honey is beautifully packaged in 350g sustainable glass jars and presented to a high standard.
