Winnie the Pooh loves honey. Mr Blackwell loves honey. Any extension of the comparison would result in a brief but entertaining set of internet memes, followed by several terminations of employment.
But imagine Mr Blackwell's delight at discovering a family business producing the very highest quality Mānuka, Wildflower, Kamahi, Native and Clover honey, straight from the land, in South Wairarapa!
Wildflower is a flavour that has evolved from tradition. Originally, the team at Greytown Honey placed hives in a ‘clover’ field but the honey that came off didn’t meet the strict standards of the generations before who were always on hand to taste each batch. "There is no way you can pack that as clover", they were told. So, the name "Wildflower" was born. Nobody could definitively say what flavours or floral tones the honey had, but it had a strong clover base with strong floral attributes. The team liked the taste so decided to pack it and see what the market thought. It very quickly became a favourite for anyone wanting something a bit different from sweet, mild clover, but not wanting the full strong flavours of Manuka.
Greytown Honey's Wildflower Honey is beautifully packaged in 350g sustainable glass jars and presented to a high standard.
